About the Team

The Ten Speed Young Readers team is led by Ginee Seo, VP and Editorial Director, Kelly Barrales-Saylor, Executive Editor and Adah Li, Assistant Editor.

Ginee Seo

Ginee Seo joined Ten Speed Young Readers as Vice President and Editorial Director in 2023. With a keen eye for picture books and illustrated nonfiction that offer a unique perspective appealing to both children and adults, Ginee brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role. A lifelong comics enthusiast, she has a particular fondness for humorous, risk-taking content that respects children and their diverse interests, with a strong commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices. Before her current role, Ginee served as the Executive Publishing Director of Children’s Books at Chronicle Books, and has held positions as Vice President and Associate Publisher at Atheneum Books for Young Readers, where she managed her own eponymous imprint, and as Vice President and Editorial Director at Harper Trophy. Throughout her long and varied career, Ginee has edited and published numerous award-winning and best-selling children’s books, from board books and picture books to middle grade and young adult novels, graphic novels, and memoirs.

Kelly Barrales-Saylor

Kelly Barrales-Saylor joined Ten Speed Young Readers in 2024 as executive editor with the goal of publishing diverse and engaging books for children of all ages that equally captivate their caring adults. With more than twenty years of experience in publishing, most recently as the editorial director of children’s imprint Sourcebooks eXplore, Kelly has acquired and published numerous bestsellers and award winners. She published beloved and acclaimed series such as Baby University by Chris Ferrie; the #1 New York Times bestselling picture book P Is for Pterodactyl by Raj Haldar, Chris Carpenter, and Maria Beddia; and delightfully wacky picture books like Except Antarctica by Todd Sturgell and Butt or Face? by Kari Lavelle. Kelly is interested in books that make readers laugh, teach them something new, create simple and beautiful shared moments at bedtime, or a combination of all three.

Adah Li

Assistant Editor Adah Li joined Ten Speed Young Readers in January 2025. Her previous publishing experience includes roles at Hachette Book Group, Andrea Brown Literary Agency, Sourcebooks, W.W. Norton, Abrams, and Tessera Editorial. She values positivity, humor, and love in narratives and is passionate about stories that will bring a smile to readers’ faces and warm their hearts. As an avid fantasy reader and fairytale lover, she’ll look at anything that is or feels magical, like classic Studio Ghibli in a book. Her editorial vision is to build a list of fun, fantastical fiction and non-fiction that strikes an emotional chord or features a unique narrative.
