WILL YOU FIND THE KEY?

On August 20, Ballantine Books and Halekulani are teaming up for a one-of-a-kind treasure hunt at Gray's Beach on Waikiki Beach.

The key to a locked safe will be dropped into the ocean. The grand prize? A $1000 bookstore giftcard, a 2-night luxury stay at Halekulani, and a full signed collection of novels by #1 New York Times-bestselling author Catherine Steadman.

Find the key. Unlock the safe. Claim the prize.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Follow for the Drop
    On August 20 at 10AM HST, the exact location of the key drop will be shared on Instagram via @halekulanihotel.

  2. Look for Signs
    On Gray's Beach at Waikiki Beach, signage will mark the key drop zone and provide instructions for participants.

  3. Find the Key
    The brightly-colored key will be floating in the water. Anyone is welcome to search.

  4. Unlock the Safe
    Once found, the key can be brought to Halekulani to open the safe and claim the prize.
