FAQ

What is the Berkley Influencer Hub for Underrepresented Voices?

The Berkley Influencer Hub for Underrepresented Voices is a website featuring quarterly offerings for digital or physical review copies of our multicultural titles. With the hub, we are giving priority to influencers from the underrepresented communities whose identity is depicted in a given title or is shared by the author(s).

Please note, this hub operates separately from the Berkley Influencer Programs, and is open to all influencers from underrepresented communities. This means you do not need to be a member of the Berkley Pub or Berkley Romance programs to request a title.

Who should request a title?

The individual request forms for each book will indicate the identity or identities we are prioritizing. We invite influencers from the underrepresented communities depicted in a given title or influencers from underrepresented communities whose identity is shared by the author(s) to request the book.

Please note we take the privacy of requestors very seriously. Self-identifying information will only be used for the limited purpose of title distribution.

Can international influencers request titles?

You must live in the US or Canada and be 18 years-of-age or older to qualify.

Due to world rights and restrictions, we are only able to work with influencers in the United States and Canada. As such, the offerings from the Berkley Influencer Hub for Underrepresented Voices are only open to those based in the U.S. and Canada.

Will I receive digital or physical galleys of the books?

Digital review copies via NetGalley is the primary form of review copy distribution. A limited number of physical review copies are available for each title and distribution will be done randomly. Please note, influencers with disability who are unable to read digitally will have the opportunity to request a physical book direclty on the form.

I don't see a request form for a book I'm interested in. Now what?

If you don't see a book you're interested in, it may be too early for it to be featured on this page or it is not available for review.

I requested a book but haven't received anything. Now what?

Review copies are limited, and due to the high volume of interest in our titles, we will only be sending emails to those receiving a review copy of a book.

I requested multiple titles but only received one. Now what?

Review copies are limited so you may not receive all the books you express interest in.

I missed the request window for a title I am interested in. What can I do?

We encourage you to request titles you may be interested in directly on NetGalley, making sure your NetGalley bio and social media links or profiles are up to date with relevant information.

When will the next round of titles be offered?

The next round of titles will be offered in November.

What accounts should I tag and what hashtags should I use in my post?

If you choose to post about a complimentary book you received from Berkley, you must disclose our relationship within each relevant post, as required by the FTC. This disclosure must occur at the top of your post before any “expand” or “read more” button. Please use at least one of these two mandatory disclosures:

  • “Thanks so much to @berkleypub @berkleyromance or @acebookspub for the free book!”

  • Tag the imprint and use the imprint's Partner hashtags: #BerkleyPartner #AceBooksPartner

Does Berkley offer compensation for posting about books?

In accordance with the Penguin Random House influencer policy, we work with influencers in the following ways:

  1. Penguin Random House does not offer monetary compensation for buzz mailings that have no posting requirement. For buzz mailings, we will provide you with complimentary books and give you the opportunity to read and review them, but you are under no obligation to do so.

  2. Penguin Random House does offer monetary compensation for sponsored content where posting is required. These paid posts will be within specific parameters, including timing and content guidelines, and potentially content approval.
